Any details about that video? What computer did that run on and what resolutions (desktop / game) and graphics settings were used? -Koraktor

I'm downloading the unstaged Vista build 5308 from Microsoft right now. Should be able to test HL2 by Friday. Yay! --AndrewNeo 19:14, 22 Mar 2006 (PST)

So, what exactly do I have to do to get a test copy? The Steam forums topic is too lengthy for finding any relevant info.. Jupix 05:34, 25 Mar 2006 (PST)
In order to get a legal copy of the beta you need to be a MSDN Subscriber. --Jurgen Knops 05:41, 25 Mar 2006 (PST)
Do I understand correctly they're giving away free Vista subscriptions somewhere? Jupix 06:48, 25 Mar 2006 (PST)
No, a MSDN Subscription is not for free. Don't know what the prices are, but I can tell you; it's not cheap. If you are a subscriber, you automatically get a change to test the beta of Vista for free (like a valid serial/download). --Jurgen Knops 06:58, 25 Mar 2006 (PST)
I take it that now was supposed to be not? In that case... Damn, would've been fun. Jupix 07:30, 25 Mar 2006 (PST)
Errrh typo indeed. Fixed. --Jurgen Knops 07:33, 25 Mar 2006 (PST)

So, Jupix, if you want Vista you can get it from me - no, you don't have to be an MSDN subscriber. Sign up a connect.microsoft.com (requires IE) and send me email with your first and last name and the email address you used to sign up. [email protected] Alternately, Also, you may leave a comment here for an invitation. --Ry Jones 2220 25 MAR 2006 (PDT)

  • I got my beta from posting in that blog. Only problem is the HD is barely big enough to install Vista, I don't have a spare on me to install Source games on :( --AndrewNeo 17:09, 27 Mar 2006 (PST)

Release Candidate 1

I don't have the results to add anything to the main page, but holy crap. This is an enormous improvement. RC1 with ATI's drivers is the same or faster than XP! --Tom Edwards 16:04, 17 Sep 2006 (PDT)
