Running Steam via ntfs-3g from installed copy on Vista x64 partition works for me. Petteyg359

I started to read over your stuff Flibitijibibo, I would recommended we just revamp this. This is very outdated and could use some new life, one thing I did not know I found in your information is stema can now be installed with winetricks. linking to NTFS mounted partition
I ran with my steamapps dir linked off of my windows partition for a few months and it worked great until I actually rebooted into windows- at which point accessing steam blue screened windows with an NTFS error. I had to tar up everything under linux, delete the directory and re-extract under windows to fix it, and I had to reverify all my game caches, several of which were damaged. I'd highly recommend -not- doing this approach with NTFS-3G at this point in time.
Fix the Steam Protocols section.
At the moment, the Steam Protocols section reads the following at the end: "The author says it will work under Ubuntu, but it may work under other flavors of Linux." I suggest it being changed to: The author says it will not work under Ubuntu, but it may work under other flavors of Linux.
Ubuntu 14.04 Unity & Compiz
The Unity interface now seems to be entirely dependant on compiz so running metacity --replace is not a good idea!

Can someone clarify the official Valve stance on SteamBridge? IMHO it is a great idea and should be adopted by Valve.
