Talk:Some Info for Mod Starters

There's a whole category of "orphaned" articles, if we're going to start deleting pages just because they aren't linked. While random images are another matter, I don't think that articles being unlinked is at all enough reason, becuase a page is easily linked. I'll categorize this one under Category:Modding to fix the problem. --MossyBucket (formerly Andreasen) 21:09, 8 February 2011 (UTC)

To be more clear, this is a not-particularly useful article someone wrote to try to feel useful, easily superceded by better written articles that are actually integrated into the website. I changed it to a redirect, but nobody's ever going to type "Some Info for Mod Starters" into the search bar. Thelonesoldier 07:06, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
My first strategy was to try to find an article to serve as the destination for a merge tag, but it proved to be harder than I imagined. The article you redirected to would be a very good canidate if it wasn't for it being written by two Valve employees, and then protected straight away against further edits(!). Please show me a tutorial that deals with a more noob-ish perspective on things. After all "ask your friends" is a more realistic course of action, than "assemble a team". Then replace the redirect (that I agree would be useless) with a merge tag. --MossyBucket (formerly Andreasen) 13:31, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
Got a reply from Jeff Lane on making alternative third-party articles: He said it's okay. (See Talk:Making_a_Mod and (for source) Admins noticeboard.) --MossyBucket (formerly Andreasen) 16:35, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
This is still a uselessly terrible article >_< . Thelonesoldier 07:57, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
