I'm sorry to ask, but is that actually allowed? Using a company name, and even real people's name in your own games without permission? Or do you have permission? Just asking --Boebi 06:19, 30 Oct 2007 (PDT)

Good point. I think it probably depends on the implementation. I don't think there would be any problems with using real names, so long as you don't do anything that could be considered slander. The company name issue could be trickier, being a trademark. So long as noone could reasonably assume that the mod is a Google product, I think it would be ok. It may even fall under Fair Use (parody or criticism) if it's done right. I'm no lawyer, though, so don't go on my advice. --BarkerJr 06:50, 30 Oct 2007 (PDT)
I am shooting for parody. If this seems sketchy, though, I can always change names. --Maj. Ownage 11:11, 1 Nov 2007 (PDT)
I should point out that "Manfred Roberts" is not based on or named after any particular person. --Maj. Ownage 11:14, 1 Nov 2007 (PDT)
If you're going for parody, then just change the name just slightly and you'll be okay. A make a new entity based on the fictional merger of companies. One of my student projects we had coffee shops called "Star Buckeneers" all over the place (Including two around a street corner). --Grash 13:53, 1 Nov 2007 (PDT)
I have to agree - change the name to, for example, Gargle if you don't want lawsuits and such. It's a parody guideline. --Baliame 14:30, 1 Nov 2007 (PDT)
Names have been changed. Thanks, and stay tuned. --Maj. Ownage 00:11, 2 Nov 2007 (PDT)

Nothing like combining a classic book I love (Nineteen Eighty-Four) with my hatred for a certain advertising company that runs a search engine. Big love!
