Need to be added:

  • A sample model from HL2, like the G-man. Break it down into sample images of each of his LOD models, and at what distances they are used. Include the number of polygons in each model.
  • Describe how to use LOD models in a mod.

Does the LOD of a model also have to do with, say you have an old grapics card and it uses the lower quality models all the time?? - treb

Is that how the "model detail" tab in options works? That makes sense. Geogriffith

I'm taking the liberty to edit this page: to make it easier to understand, and convert it to third-person (in order to fit the default format). I'll try to preserve a sound amount of the subtle humour. And I hope you don't mind.
