- I think that because you have Windows 8 Consumer preview. It's not released version of system, have many bugs, so it may not support many products. Use released Windows system (7/Vista/XP) --Mehiller 02:00, 12 May 2012 (PDT)
- I have same problem( OS: Windows 7 ). --0ms 01:10, 13 May 2012 (PDT)

Never use server.cfg to set log on. This will create on each mapchange two logfiles. If log is enabled, and the command log on is executed, it will start a new logfile. In addition a mapchange will start a new logfile too. So you get for every map two logfiles, if you set log on in your server.cfg. The community do with every new version of cs this mistake.

Command Not Found: ./srcds_run
Hey, I've got everything good up to the point where I go to start the server - running Ubuntu Onyx -
Steam>./srcds_run -game csgo -console -usercon +game_type 1 +game_mode 0 +mapgroup mg_armsrace +map ar_shoots >>> command not found: ./srcds_run
I also tried the windows method:
Steam>srcds -game csgo -console -usercon +game_type 1 +game_mode 0 +mapgroup mg_armsrace +map ar_shoots >>> command not found: srcds
Any direction would be much appreciated!
mp_halftime and gamemodes_server
I have a big problem mp_halftime on my server. I bought a 10 slot server for competitive gaming. Since 23 of Aug teamswap on halftime does not work on my server. I Tried to reinstal it several times but it did not give any result. Maybe someone here will have an idea for fixing that.
Second issue that I have is gamemodes_server.txt file. I managed to create a proper one with a helper that I've found here, yet when I started my server with all setup like i needed to along with mapgroups and custom maps added to where they should be. I was unable to join the server. Somewhere on the internet I've found that i must edit the gamemodes.txt despite the fact that the valve wiki says i have to manage the gamemodes_server.txt file because gamemodes.txt may be altered by valve at any time which may bring me a bad result if I edit gamemodes instaed of gamemodes_server. Have had any of You any problems with those two files disturbing each other work ? I really miss the css server managing.

Please Update Advanced configuration!
As CSGO servers no longer use the gamemodes_server.txt file, but the files in the format "gamemode_armsrace_server.txt" located under the cfg folder (at least according to how my server behaves and what I have found on google) please update the advanced configuration section to reflect this. Specifically I am trying to change the weapon order and turn on multiple kills on Armsrace, having done this in the gamemodes_server.txt and it not working, I had to do this in gamemodes.txt, which is bad practice. Since the format of gamemode_armsrace.txt seems to be vastly different than gamemodes.txt, I have no idea what to type in to gamemode_armsrace_server.txt to achieve the same results that my modification of gamemodes.txt gave.
Hey, I had a similar problem last night. I believe that gamemodes_server.txt is still used - it certainly dictates map group configurations. None of the convvars I put in there were working, and that's when I discovered the files like "cfg/gamemode_casual_server.cfg". These are executed after the similar "cfg/gamemod_casual.cfg" files, and have the same format. You can see how they're executed in the "gamemodes.txt" file. Anyway, I can't speak to weapon ordering, but copying a cfg/gamemode_WHATEVER.cfg file to cfg/gamemod_WHATEVER_server.cfg and then modifying the settings worked well. --Kc0bfv 07:01, 5 November 2012 (PST)
Port forwarding
I have problems to get my server on the list I have this router Motorola sgv1202, a pc with mymax wireless adaptor and live in Brazil. I want to know the ports that I need forward and if i need to do something in my srcds shortcut like "-port 27XXX +sv_region X". tenks. —Unsigned comment added by Otavioafm (talk • contribs) Always sign your posts with four tildes (~~~~

- Did you check the SRCDS page? CS:GO should use the same ports. I've also added this to the article. Lonaowna 03:52, 10 November 2012 (PST)
usercon
Does anyone know what this parameter does? I'm speculating that it might be short for "user config", perhaps it's so it executes "gamemodes_server.txt" and "gamemode_XXX_server.cfg"? --pizzahut 04:25, 26 December 2012 (PST)
Troyan in Gamemodes Helper
Apparently there is a TROYAN in the file Helper_v2.0.0.0.zip (see this). Are you absolutely sure of this tool ? As a precaution I remove the link from the main page https://csgoelite.com/help --Vader 666 14:46, 7 January 2013 (PST)

/home/csgoserver/.steam/root/steam.sh: not found
You must create a text file called 'steam_appid.txt' in /home/csgoserver/serverfiles (or the same folder that srcds.exe is located) and enter the app ID in the text file. Although the app ID is 740 when you download the server files, the app ID in steam_appid.txt must be 730, otherwise the server will not allow you to join.
Odd issue with Starting CentOS 6.5 Linux Server
While trying to start my new dedicated Counter Strike: Global Offensive Server, I came across this error:
/bin/sh: /home/steam/.steam/root/steam.sh: No such file or directory ./srcds_run: line 318: 28212 Segmentation fault (core dumped) $HL_CMD Add "-debug" to the ./srcds_run command line to generate a debug.log to help with solving this problem Mon Feb 17 20:08:09 MST 2014: Server restart in 10 seconds
After searching, I came across a fix where you create a new file in your game directory (./csgo-ds) called "steam_appid.txt". The only line in this new file needs to be "730" (without the " " marks). The result of a "cat" of the file would look as such:
[steam@<server ip> csgo-ds]$ cat steam_appid.txt
730
[steam@<server ip> csgo-ds]$
This allowed me to launch the server. The other option was I used the server launcher that was linked on the page, and that worked fine.
Addition for Linux Scripts
I'm developing a server control API for Linux using NodeJS: https://github.com/Taraman17/nodejs-csgo-api
Is there a chance to have that added in the linux scripts section?
