LOL! YET ANTHER BIG MISTERY IN THE HL SERIES WITH NO POSTS! heres my therory on what the borealis is: it is the ship that was shiping the portal gun from apature labs to the enrichment center(becuase they might be in different locations). Black mesa and apature were both working on portal tech and eli says "I cant let this happen again! not another black mesa!" or something like that. he probibly knows about apatures portal gun and refers to it as the "weapon" because of the incedent at black mesa. actualy it makes more sence if you replace portal gun with GLaDOS now that i think about it.
