The only naming restrictions for the assets in the SFM Workshop are that models, materials and sounds are in their respective directories, within a current mod. It's still a good idea to recompile assets for maximum compatibility, and it's also a good idea to create a parent directory for your assets to help prevent name conflicts between yourself and other creators, but the ugc/STEAMID directories are no longer necessary.
