Talk:Env starfield

There's something strange with this entity. The tunnel effect created by the movement of the stars is following the player's eyes. I mean, if you look left, the stars will come from the left, and if you look down, the stars will come from the bottom.. This is kind of weird because ingame it looks simply ugly. The tunnel keeps changing its orientation and the stars goes in every direction.. As far as I can remember, the starfield in HL1 Outro was not acting like that. --NykO18

The hl1 starfield was created by white geometry trains on a path. This starfield was engineered only for use with a scripted view (i.e. static direction) so it didn't really matter—ts2do 11:12, 17 Sep 2006 (PDT)
I said that because it's written "Creates the starfield effect used in HL1 outro" and that was just what I needed. I think I'll try to find another way to do it. --NykO18

you could use a scrolling texture or look into trains—ts2do 15:23, 17 Sep 2006 (PDT)

For HL2 it works pretty good if you time it right so the Player can't study it for long.

In this Teleporting tutorial it worked out pretty good...[1] --wisemx 16:55, 17 Sep 2006 (PDT)

In case anyone was wondering what the tutorial was: WiseTele B) Pinsplash (talk) 23:05, 7 September 2018 (UTC)
