Why not? The linked article says "it has become a standard saying that people should never try to carve with anything except rectangular blocks that are aligned to the grid (emphasis added)" Aren't these rectangular blocks that are aligned to the grid? Also, if we really shouldn't carve, can you provide a link to how to cut a hole without carving?
