The Source Scoreboard Community is an upcoming project, an idea by CrabbyData & Dutchmega.

What is it?

Source Scoreboard Community or the SSC will be an open-source class for the Source Engine that will allow mods to use a global statistics-system. The statistics will be accessible via a website and available for all Source Engine mods. It will feature for each mod and/or server extended statistics, like kills, frags, at how many servers played, favorite server and more. Custom statistics will also be possible, for mods who have an unusal points-system.

It will also be possible to turn off the system with a ConVar and even players will have the same ability. In later versions, it is also planned to make it possible to see the current statistics ingame.

How will mods use it?

Statistics will always be counted, regardless of the server. The class will be open-source, so each mod can implement it in the code. Each mod will need to register at the website. When they are approved, they will receive a special password which will allow access to the statistics-system. It will also disallow others to influence the scores.
