Expression events ignored in-game?

Is there more to getting actors to act out expression events in-game than merely creating the appropriate event in a .vcd and importing it into a LCS entity?

For example, I created a scene where a npc_barney actor would act out an expression event using the "hh" expression from the "phonemes" class file, among other various events. Playing through the scene in FacePoser shows the desired effect. However, when setting scene_print to 1 and playing the scene in HL2, CBaseFlex::AddSceneEvent: event failed appears in the console within the timespan of the expression event, along with the actor ignoring the action, but the rest of the scene plays as expected. Am I missing something vital, or would I have to rely on flexanimation events for actions like these? -- Sodabus 22:17, 19 Jul 2005 (PDT)
