My solution to nto srewing up the First mapping tutorials. I have nearly a week straight noschool so I'll wokr up some hevaier content then.
For now, just drop links i here of anything you think i should cover.Angry Beaver 21:14, 14 Feb 2006 (PST)
Goal?
Not sure of the goal of this exactly. Seems like it would overlap with existing pages:
- Category:Level Design
- Category:Level Design Tutorials
- Category:Level Design FAQ
- Abstract Mapping series.
Why not just write a series of tutorials and place links to them in the proper category? The Level Design category page will be getting a cleanup soon. --JeffLane 11:13, 15 Feb 2006 (PST)
What its meant to be is a launching pad for new mappers. The current beginers tutorials while basic are too basic. They basically say "Heres hammer , make a brush pick a texture. make a room. Good now you know everything go have fun." Whereas they know aboiut 20% of what I call basics. This area will be the more advanced approach to bring them up to a more respectable level of mapping. It will show them other tutorials and things through links but it will be sort of a lesson plan on how to bring yourself up to a better standard of mapping. It wont be entirley self contained and will utilise the rest of the wiki's tutorials i feel relevant. Angry Beaver 15:05, 15 Feb 2006 (PST)
