- There is a little extra info here: Statistics Page --CrabbyData 10:18, 29 Apr 2006 (PDT)
- Am I allowed to guess? Oh well, here goes:
- Who: The Valve people
- Where: Tempe, Arizona (USA) (NetCraft)
- When: I'd say March 31st, 2005 or within two weeks of that.
- Am I even close? :) Jupix 03:00, 1 May 2006 (PDT)
rules
the site needs them. can a mod come here and add a rule page? it's becoming annoying when users quote non-existant rules, right or wrong. Kizzycocoa 17:37, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
- The rules that other users quote do exist, you just keep on ignoring them because they haven't been placed on a page for easy viewing. Solokiller 18:12, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
- well, unless a MODERATOR actually HAS a page for it, or has been quoted for it, the rule is a user-made rule. and should be disregarded.
- hence why a page is very necessary Kizzycocoa 18:14, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
- If an admin states a rule somewhere, it is a real rule. You quote Jeff Lane's answer to something, yet, when we quote something he, or another admin said, but just longer ago, you ignore it. Thus, YOU, not we, are bending the rules. Solokiller 18:19, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
- but I get links. you lot can't be asked. how do I know?
- I don't. now, if you will, this is about DOCUMENTING rules. not discussing them. Kizzycocoa 18:24, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
- This page has discussion on the usage of more than one page per mod, as it is a discussion between several users of this wiki, it also counts as a rule, as the admins, who are VALVe employees do not have all the time to check up on this wiki. Also, if you want to know for sure which rules exist, i suggest you search the wiki for them, as i'm not going to spend hours searching through thousands of edits and hundreds of pages just so you would stop messing things up. This is still a development wiki, not a mod wiki. If you want to put tons of pages filled with information on your mod online, there's always the half-life wiki, if they allow it. Solokiller 19:06, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
- I'm calling BS on that one. no matter how many collective users decide to make a rule, the final say goes to the admins/moderators. and they have not had their final say on that talk page.

- and I'm not dumb. I have searched for rules
- the searches were fruitless. Kizzycocoa 19:16, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
- If that's the case, then why are you editing a wiki? Wikis operate based on what users decide is good and what isn't good, if the admins have to say something about every single issue then it would become impossible to do anything on a wiki. And again, this is a mod development wiki, not a mod information wiki. Solokiller 19:28, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
- For fuck's sake, even if I agree with you Solokiller, just leave the man alone in his awesomeness. You're both clogging up the Recent Changes list and the whole thing becomes unreadable. --NykO18 20:14, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
- this is important. it should have been discussed AGES ago
- and FYI, I RUN a forum as a moderator. every major change has to go by the admins. the rules were discussed by the moderators, and then the admin has the final say.
- I know how things work. and quoting a group of people is not good enough. the group must have had the admins make such changes to rules for it to count. Kizzycocoa 20:24, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
- This isn't worth discussing, you just don't want to understand. A forum does not compare to a wiki, if you think it does, then that explains your behavior, but it does not justify it. I hope you finally stop it already, because i won't argue with you anymore, i'll just take action immediately. Solokiller 20:28, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
- regardless, I've contacted a moderator.
- hopefully, I'll be able to know from them what is and isn't allowed so I don't give you lot an opportunity to attack articles I make, or have tried to help with.
- and I hope they do so. this website has caused me more stress than thinkingwithportals. and THAT'S saying something.Kizzycocoa 20:31, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
- This is the last thing i'll say on this: you caused all of these problems yourself, if you just listened, you wouldn't have had so many things go wrong. Solokiller 20:38, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
- and this is the last thing I will say.
- I have had no malicious intent on the wiki, nor have I broken any OFFICIAL rules, nor have I bent rules into my favor.
- I have yet to call anyone anything malicious, yet to swear pretty much at all. and I have lost sleep wondering why people are so angry about me trying to help.
- I have only tried to help. and what do I get? a gang of, well, I believe the definition is "troll" (swearing, insulting, continuing discussions when admins have been involved etc.)
- and all of a sudden, what do you know? they're causing a huge argument about everything, getting personal opinions of the person involved.
- I will also add, a user from here contacted me via steam.
- his ego was bigger than any other person's ego, any monument's size, indeed, any planet's mass that I can use as a realistic example. it was like he thought he was royalty.
- to protect their "reputation", I will not post who. but they not only attacked my personality, my intellect and even personal aspects of my life, they acted as if they were never wrong. as if they had authority to insult me to "protect" the wiki.
- This is the last thing i'll say on this: you caused all of these problems yourself, if you just listened, you wouldn't have had so many things go wrong. Solokiller 20:38, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

- does this sound like protectors of a wiki? or like trolls?
- I may have been misled by the fact this isn't a forum, but everywhere needs rules. this place has been overrun by users, the mods are inactive, and the users have already begun to take charge. that in my opinion is not good for ANY type of website.
- you can keep quoting all you want, but a group does not make rules. only an admin or moderator can. which in this case is VALVe.
- and I hope they can see that I was only trying to help. and that I am not the troll. that in fact, it is quite the opposite.
now, so the question, and not the argument you caused is considered, I shall repost the first post. Kizzycocoa 21:01, 13 December 2009 (UTC)
