if you have photoshop just install the VTF plugin. you can edit your texture or decal or whatever and save it directly as a VTF file without the lame targa middleman stage. soooooo much easier than that stupid vtex tool.

PROBLEM FIGURING OUT OUTPUT DIR FOR .... THIS IS THE WORST TOOL EVER MADE

takes like a rocket scientist, i already used it a whole bunch of times. everytime i go back to use it on something, i have to figure it out all over again. so pissed

I had the same problem just now, but it went away when I simply went into the Source SDK menu, and simply clicked on the Current Game drop-down list (after having deleted that environment value in that list described under Troubleshooting, but that alone didn't fix things). Now I just have to have to make it interpret my texture as not being bogus. This is not a working tool. --Andreasen 22:21, 21 Oct 2006 (PDT)
