Template:L4d series brush It is a brush entity that will fade out any ragdolls that touch it. In other words, this entity can be used to immediately fade out server and client ragdolls. This is useful when it is necessary clear part of the map for an event, like a complex moving object.

The name that other entities refer to this entity by, via Inputs/Outputs or other keyvalues (e.g. parentname or target).
