== Criticism ==
The main point of critique against [[Left 4 Dead 2]] has been [[Valve]]'s choice to develop a sequel rather than further expand [[Left 4 Dead]]. The developer has, however, explained that [[Left 4 Dead 2]] will contain too much new content to be suitable for release as a [[DLC]] for the original game. Although most con-sequel groups have now been disbanded or fallen to inactivity, some fans still claim that [[Valve]] have failed to deliver the promised content for [[Left 4 Dead]] and thus continue opposing [[Left 4 Dead 2]].
 
== Early access demo ==
An early access demo was set for release on October 27 at 1 PM, PST (8 PM, UTC), but was due to five delays, presumably caused by unforeseen technical inadequacies at [[Valve]], not released until October 28, 5:08 PM, PST (October 29, 0:08 AM, UTC). See [[Valve Time]] for more information.
 
These delays caused major controversy among fans, leading to an increase in support for the original con-sequel standpoint and a generally offensive attitude towards [[Valve]], particularly on the [http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=611 official Left 4 Dead 2 forum]. [[Valve]] initially responded by rapidly removing posts and locking threads, but later left the forum to itself as the situation worsened. As a result, all [http://forums.steampowered.com/ official Steam forums] were unavailable at several times between the start of the fourth delay and the release ending the fifth.
