Categories on redirect pages
I just noticed that the software upgrade has led to redirect pages appearing in categories. This is "correct" behaviour insofar as they do have [[Category:X]] in them, but bad because it's spamming up the list with unimportant entries. I'd like to see them hidden again...what do you think? --TomEdwards 19:23, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
- Interesting, I had not noticed this, but it makes sense. This is more of a new feature than a bug since the redirects actually have category tags in them. The category index is similar to the index of a book, so in this particular case, I think it is appropriate that the redirect titles that are unique parameters (such as $basetexturenoenvmap) are in the category index. The redirects that are duplicates of other entries clearly added only for search purposes ($detail alpha mask base texture) should definitely not have category tags. And the remaining ones in the $ section could get category tags parameters added so they are correctly alphabetized. --JeffLane 01:05, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
