For some configuration problems, it is necessary to re-copy the original files from the Source SDK Steam cache.

To refresh the Source SDK files:

  1. Open the Source SDK in Steam (hidden by default, enable tools in the library filters)
  2. In the Utilities section, choose Refresh SDK Content.
  3. After reading the warning, press Continue and wait for the SDK window to finish copying files.

The Source SDK files should now be refreshed and updated.
