Moderators are voted by the community in the moderator elections.
Moderators have the ability to:
- Block other users from editing
- Protect pages and edit protected pages
- Delete pages
along with other select permissions.
They maintain the community and continuously contribute to the community, just like the admins in other communities. They are elected due to changes in time since the creation of the wiki that prohibit admins from being able to do meaningful work.
Moderators will retain their permissions indefinitely unless it is decided that they can not uphold their duties as a moderator, either through resignation or through community/administrative decision.
