I remember trying to convert this to Sven Co-Op. After getting over the initial shock of seeing this beast in-editor (it's like jumping into a frozen lake), I got pretty far, but it was a pain in the ass to convert the messages to game_text's. == Origins of Minverva and the player ==
After playing Someplace else once again, I've started to make connections, perhaps ones that you never even thought of; Minerva says that a Soldier almost figured it out, way before the player's time, and although this was supposed to be refering to an expansion for Op4 you never finished, '''perhaps''' Minverva can travel back and forth throughout time, and is really talking about the Combine soldier from Metastasis, only saying it was in the past to put a thin veil on the real event.
Perhaps the HEV scientist from Someplace Else was turned into that Combine soldier after his arrival back on earth, and that is what Minerva is hinting to when she says "Perhaps we shall meet again, but I doubt it. Some other time, some other form?"
Also, the screens in the level look somewhat Combine-ish to me. Perhaps Minverva is a rouge Combine Advisor interested in ''helping'' humanity, possibly even evolved into a higher form? This is all more or less baseless speculation, and I'm not asking for answers. Just wanted to share my thoughts.
