Friend wrote me a model conversion program, it simply changes the header to IDST, So yeah, can't release it, but all you need todo to convert models for viewing use is change the model header (with hex editor or whatever) to "IDST," --[[User:Frostbite|Frostbite]] 12:56, 3 Oct 2007 (PDT)

I've even contacted someone from a Russian forum who had posted about the program to see if they still had a copy. They do not. I have put additional feelers out to see if anyone I know may have a copy as well but I don't expect to hear back. The final nail in the coffin for this article is that this program wasn't ever needed.</strike> You can simply use any hex editor, such as HxD, and edit the values on the very first line to change the version number manually. When you open a VTF file in something like HxD, [https://i.imgur.com/tdNIWcO.png the bits at offset <code>00000000</code>, blocks <code>04</code> and <code>08</code>] are the VTF version numbers. I've tried plopping it into steamapps/common/Team Fortress 2/bin and dragging and dropping a VTF of version 7.4/7.3 on it and it doesn't seem to do anything.
