Wildcard

A wildcard is a character in a string that means "any other string of letters may go here, as long as they have this prefix and/or suffix next to me".

For example, a list of entities with similar names such as sheep1, sheep2, sheep3 could all be referred to with just sheep*.

Note: A wildcard can go anywhere in a string. For example, white_horse, brown_horse, and black_horse could all be referred to with just *horse. Further, sheep_likes_horse, sheep_hates_horse, and sheep_doesnt_know_horse could all be referred to with sheep*horse, which will not refer to sheep1, etc. nor white_horse, etc..
