I have recently been making a simple parkour map (because I'm a beginner) using simple brushes, triggers and textures. I've also got a computer that crashes whenever it heats up, which makes sense. But, here is the problem: When I turn my computer back on after it crashes, and go back into hammer to do some more work and I test the map in TF2, everything is black! I soon found out, it was a lighting problem. But still don't know how it happened.

I did find a command for the console called 'mat_fullbright (set to 1) and that filled everything up. [Well because the '1' setting means everything is lit 100%!] but the normal setting (0) is just all black!

I've tried many, many things to try and solve this and get it all lit up normally, but ended up getting no where. Lights however, help a bit. They illuminate the darkness, but I don't want that.

Another thing to note is that when I checked the 3D Ray-traced Preview The 3D view screen was a missing texture (black and purple chess-layout texture) and the little tab of the preview in-game was the same.

Resetting Game Configuration - Non-fixed

Check for Problems - No errors found

Must be something I blindly did and I don't know how to reverse it.

Can someone give me advice for fixing this problem

Note: To avoid incorrect advice leading to more chaos, I decided to make a copy and test your advice on that to see if it works :)

I recommend that you ask for help in the Steam User Forums, since you're unlikely to get help here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=193 Solokiller (talk) 07:55, 7 September 2015 (UTC)
