Summary
Star Wars: The New Era ("TNE") is a total conversion of Half-Life 2, currently in development by Invision Games team. The focus of the mod is on trying to capture the atmosphere and beauty of various key locations of Star Wars, as well as creating a unique multiplayer experience through tactical, objective-based gameplay with a wide variety of gameplay options and player classes.
Star Wars: The New Era will allow players to experience the epic conflicts of the Star Wars universe in two popular time periods: The Clone Wars as well as the Galactic Civil War.

History
The basic idea for the mod came from another mod for Jedi Academy, called "Movie Battles II". In 2006 some of its developers and community mappers decided to take a leap to the new, superb engine and to port the extremely unique Team Assault gameplay to Source.
It's first release target first as an open beta was planned to be the summer of 2008, but this date wasn't met due to large technical difficulties.
In August 2010 the project was rebooted, and had several new additions to its team.
