XSI

Good work, BJ. And thanks for your XSI tutorials(especially Adding a Sequence one). --N-neko

You going to bring them over to the wiki? --Pon 07:40, 22 Sep 2005 (PDT)

I'd very much like to. I think there are HTML-to-WIKI converters and that would make it relatively easy. However, being new around here, I sort of hesitate to create a bunch of new pages. I'll give it a try when I'm a little more comfortable (I'm talking to myself here).
Don't feel uncomfortable. As is said on Wikipedia: "Be bold!" And if you post material, someone will eventually wikify it. —Maven (talk) 10:31, 22 Sep 2005 (PDT)

Hosting_sample_maps

Hey BJ, I didn't know for sure if you wanted to be or a Moderator of the Map-Uploading-Database or a PHP-Code-Cleaner (or both). Which of the two did you want to become? --CrabbyData 13:47, 24 May 2006 (PDT)

I'm certainly willing to be both, Crabby. I'm renewing my familiarity with php and mysql by trying out some vmf parsing. However, whatever you need help with. I'd love to see the site be a big success = useful to as many users as possible. Just let me know how, when and where to show up.
Great! :D It's always great to get that much help! ^_^ About your email you've send me:
Also, if you need some temporary storage, I've got quite a bit of space on my site.
I need a couple of things to know first:
  • How many MB/GB/TB are we talking about? I was thinking about at least 3 Gigabyte of space... If that's too much for you, then I have my Dutch friend, Dutchmega which does have 2 gig (or so) free for me on his site, but he prefers to host it somewhere else... If I can't do it anywhere else, for free, then he'll host the site... --CrabbyData 14:38, 24 May 2006 (PDT)
It's fairly small, ~750M available right now. Sounds pretty small for a primary site, I'm afraid. My idea of 'quite a bit of space' was based on just temporary storage rather than a primary site. Sorry about that.
  • How 'fast' is your server? I mean, is it like a home-made-server, with a small upload-bandwidth, or is it a normal server, at a datacentre, with office-ADSL (or something else that normal internet-servers use)? --CrabbyData 14:38, 24 May 2006 (PDT)
Not sure about the speed. It's a commercial hosting site.
  • Does it have some sort of data-limit / maximum-allowed-uploaded-data (don't know the exact translation of data-limiet (=Dutch)) ? --CrabbyData 14:38, 24 May 2006 (PDT)
I'm allowed 15G/month for total transfers (up and down), I think. But that doesn't help much with only 750M available! ;)
You know, just the standard-type of information... I hope/think it will attract a lot of users to it, so a good server is priority number one...! --CrabbyData 14:38, 24 May 2006 (PDT)
I'm going to my grandparents again... I'll respond in the evening (that will be around 12 hours from now :'( ) --CrabbyData 01:29, 25 May 2006 (PDT)
