The VERC Collective The primary source for information on all aspects of programming, modelling, and mapping for both Half-Life 1 and Source-based games. Their user forums are an excellent place to go for help.

Nem's Tools Nem is a .NET programmer who has produced many useful tools for developing. Most significant is his GCFscape program, which like pakscape before it, allows developers to open and extract files from the .gcf file archives that Steam uses to store files. A bit of clarification: GCFscape is in no way a "hack". You cannot modify the .gcf files in any way.
