"Getting Real"
I remember that many months ago, you were soliciting links that you thought would be helpful for mod teams. (I can't remember on which page though, hence why I'm posting here.) At the time, I recommended 37 Signals' "Getting Real" philosophy but bemoaned the fact that they'd put all their content on the subject behind a pay wall.
Yesterday they took the pay wall down, delivering an HTML copy of what had become a PDF e-book. I'd put it up on the appropriate page, but like I say, I can't remember what page that was. As before, I think that while some of the philosophy is specific to web design, much of it is really relevant for mod teams. It emphasises small teams, nimble development with rapid iterative re-releases rather than big versions, doing "less" than your gorilla-sized competitors but doing it with focus and elegance, etc etc.
I'll let you figure out what, if anything, to do with the link, and get back to reading through it. :) --Giles 04:47, 26 Oct 2006 (PDT)
