I tried this, and now hammer will close itself every time I try to open my map, thanks Jeff!
Source SDK is an examplary toolkit, continuously providing challenges and errors for the exhausted and broken down modder to overcome!

- Alright, fixed it.
- Turns out I had put a string in quotation marks (as you instinctively would do when handling strings) inside a parameter, hammer doesn't like that.
