User preferences box not stylized
It may only be happening for me, but my user preferences blinded me with its original white background. I wasn't sure if this was purposely set or accidental by not using the same color schemes as this new layout. &mdash;Mattshu 18:44, 27 June 2011 (PDT)
: That was an oversight -- the changes did not get applied. Should look better now, though it is a work-in-progress. --JeffLane 19:51, 27 June 2011 (PDT)
::That's a lot better. Thanks. &mdash;Mattshu 20:27, 27 June 2011 (PDT)
::Also, I'm not sure if this was meant to remain, but when browsing a picture, the table class 'wikitable filehistory' and the table id 'mw_metadata' isn't stylized with the new layout either. &mdash;Mattshu 05:55, 9 July 2011 (PDT)
::: Yes, there's a few more areas, especially with tables, that are usable now, but need updating to fit in properly. They'll be fixed at some point. --JeffLane 13:57, 11 July 2011 (PDT)
:::: Alrighty, just bringing them to attention &mdash;Mattshu 14:36, 11 July 2011 (PDT)
::::: No problem, thanks. --JeffLane 16:54, 11 July 2011 (PDT)
Old VDC theme
Could you add the original style as alternative to the preferences? I quite liked the original bright theme. --pizzahut 04:26, 28 June 2011 (PDT)
: Unfortunately, no. It was tested, but too many changes to site templates were required that made the old theme unusable. --JeffLane 11:07, 28 June 2011 (PDT)
Floating image borders
Really liking the new style! There is one niggle though: all floated boxes have borders, which isn't always desirable. Could the borders be disabled on images? --TomEdwards 05:10, 28 June 2011 (PDT)
: Yes, the border should not be there. This was fixed. --JeffLane 11:09, 28 June 2011 (PDT)
Otherlang2 template integration
Tom here. Since there's an actual site style now, could I please put in a request? --Artfunkel 13:45, 30 June 2011 (PDT)
: What exact changes are you requesting? It's not clear the scope of what you're asking for from that page. --JeffLane 14:45, 1 July 2011 (PDT)
:: It's some new HTML to replace the current firstHeading element, embedding the otherlang bar into the site properly. It would need to be added to the custom theme PHP. --Artfunkel 15:21, 1 July 2011 (PDT)
::: If you would like to submit a functioning patch against the Mediawiki 1.16.5 Vector codebase, we can look into testing it. --JeffLane 13:52, 5 July 2011 (PDT)
Looks great
New site style looks great! Thelonesoldier 21:53, 30 June 2011 (PDT)
:The VDC bot deleting old files/pages marked for deletion is like an angel from heaven. Thanks. Thelonesoldier 02:03, 12 July 2011 (PDT)
Question regarding an entity
There is a page on an entity called logic_mirror_movement on the wiki, located here, but it is not listed in any fgd, and there is almost no reference to it anywhere. Does it actually exist, or not? Solokiller 04:22, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
:It still exists in the SDK as <code>game\server\logic_mirror_movement.cpp</code>. It probably got removed in later Source games, because the parenting system is better for movement mirroring. --Barracuda 06:28, 23 July 2011 (PDT)
Vandalizing account
This user is quite peculiar if you look at the history of contribs: Special:Contributions/Dardar2003. Is there a way to just simply ban the account and reverse everything that was changed by this user in a few clicks? Currently, any changes made by this user have not been undone. --ThaiGrocer 13:06, 21 August 2011 (PDT)
Deletion request
Hi, could you please delete these two pages for me? User:Pizzahut/monobook.js‎ User talk:Pizzahut/valve.js‎ Thanks in advance.
Btw is the VDC bot still running? How would I get it to delete these pages, blanking didn't help, adding the delete template neither. --pizzahut 11:22, 12 January 2012 (PST)
:Tagging a page for deletion only flags the page, it doesn't mean it will be deleted instantly. There are many pages on the VDC that are flagged for deletion that still remain, it's just a matter of priority, I suppose. Pages that contain spam or spammers usually rank the highest in deletion. There was a time last year though when the VDCBot deleted every paged marked for deletion. That was nice. But personally asking for pages to be deleted might get them ousted faster, I assume. &mdash;Mattshu 13:13, 12 January 2012 (PST)
Translated Page
There is now a Valve Developer Community:Alternative Languages:fr page. --Almos 18:47, 13 March 2012 (CET)
Suggestion: Wiki account activation
We've recently been getting hit by spammers. I think we can mitigate this problem if the wiki requires each user to validate their account via email before being allowed to create content. If it's even possible, that is. &mdash;Mattshu 13:54, 24 March 2012 (PDT)
:: That is already the case. We're switching to a different CAPTCHA system to see if there is any improvement. --JeffLane 13:18, 25 March 2012 (PDT)
::: Ohh, you're right. I figured since the option to edit a page was available under an unactivated account, you could do so. I didn't go any further than that though. &mdash;Mattshu 10:54, 26 March 2012 (PDT)
:Perhaps make the first 5 or so edits moderated by an administrator to catch spammers before they can do real harm. Solokiller 02:44, 25 March 2012 (PDT)
:: Unfortunately, that is not very practical with a wiki. For one thing, a page could be edited by another user in between the time the new user edits the page and when the edit is approved. --JeffLane 13:18, 25 March 2012 (PDT)
:::Well, since most spam seems to be new pages and images, couldn't you make creation of them moderated? Solokiller 22:38, 25 March 2012 (PDT)
:::: Good idea. It's not like new pages are being created every other minute (apart from spammers). Maybe if the same CAPTCHA method were introduced before being able to create a new page. &mdash;Mattshu 10:54, 26 March 2012 (PDT)
HUD Timer
Hi ! I already asked this question on Mattshu's talk, but he could'nt help me. So maybe you... I want to introduce in the HUD of my mod, a timer, like Challenges in Portal 1. But not for challenges and bonus maps, just to see how many time the player stays in a map. So can you help me ?
Thank's for your futur answer. --Almos 08:13, 28 April 2012 (PDT)

User permissions - could I be 'autoconfirmed'?

Hi there. I took some screenshots of some basic examples of Logic Gates in Puzzle Maker for use on this page, however I am unable to upload files as I am not in the 'autoconfirmed' user group. Are you able to add me to the autoconfirmed user group via Special:UserRights? RJackson 09:27, 13 May 2012 (PDT)

That is odd, you should already be a confirmed user. Have you set and authenticated your email address in your user preferences? It's under My preferences > User profile > E-mail options. --JeffLane 10:52, 14 May 2012 (PDT)

Images uploading

I have problem with images uploading. I have error: Could not rename file "/tmp/phpO78Nz6" to "public/a/a4/P2PM_glass.png". --Mehiller 11:09, 14 May 2012 (PDT)
