Hi, I added a <nowiki>{{deletemod}}</nowiki> template which has a generic message which should be perfectly suitable for just about any crap mod article. It also adds them to a new category, [[:Category:Mods for deletion]] which in an ideal world would make them more likely to get deleted. It's probably more work than it's worth but if you want you could replace the deletion tags you've already stuck on mod articles with this one. I'll try to replace some of mine. :That's a good idea! =) I used to think that sending an automated message to the author of the article would be a good idea (like ''Prod'' allows you to do) but with Jeff Lane saying that mods in general is better suited for the Moddb, and the rules having been in place for awhile, that's probably unnecessary. I don't think I'll be retagging already tagged mods, though - that's simply far too many mods for me. Also, remember to post about the tag on the Administrators Noticeboard so that they know that there's a new deletion tag to search for, because they won't delete what they're not aware of. --[[User:MossyBucket|MossyBucket (formerly Andreasen)]] 00:02, 17 February 2011 (UTC) | :That's a good idea! =) I used to think that sending an automated message to the author of the article would be a good idea (like ''Prod'' allows you to do) but with Jeff Lane saying that mods in general is better suited for the Moddb, and the rules having been in place for awhile, that's probably unnecessary. ::Thanks! Yeah, I was planning on posting onto the Noticeboard after getting a few dozen tagged. I'll probably retag some of yours then, I can find them by searching "fart" on the recent changes list :P . [[User:Thelonesoldier|Thelonesoldier]] 00:18, 17 February 2011 (UTC) |

Whoa man, long time no see. I can remember back to when I was mega noob, and you had great patience with that. Nice to see you back.--MrFourVideoCards 22:56, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
Oh, hi! I'm glad to hear you've grown as a developer. =) I left mainly because I couldn't accept Jeff wanting to format all the entities back to grey/black (because at first his only argument was that it would take too much effort and time to change them all), and him reverting a major edit because he thought I "changed too much", and then life wandered on, but I can't really keep away. Every time I use Hammer I refer to this site, so it needs to be readable. =) --MossyBucket (formerly Andreasen) 23:03, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
Amazing New Tutorial
Here's the source of the "Amazing New Tutorial" stuff: Help:Editing#Creating_a_new_page - this basically establishes it as a sandbox without explicitly saying so. Thelonesoldier 19:43, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you! I edited that page, telling people to not actually create the page. (There's already a sandbox page, and I think one is enough.) --MossyBucket (formerly Andreasen) 19:51, 8 February 2011 (UTC)
To do
Just in case I lose my notes, I'll store a copy of my "to do" list here:
VDC edits to do:
I need to go through all the mods templated to the "GoldSrc" engine, and change them to "GoldSource".
The [[Template:ReleasedMod]] template (all the mods that use it) has to go as well.
Check so that [[Mod_Page_Template]] does not conflict with the [[Help:Mod Profiles]] page.
Check out:
[[Category:Mods In Alpha]]
[[Template:DemoModSmall]]
Make sure that [[Category:Perfect Dark Source]] covers all the Perfect Dark: Source entries.
Instead of annoyedly telling noobs to fuck off, I should create a polite warning template connected to a deletion template (like "deletePOC|blahblah"), like the prod template one.
[[Template:AlphaMod]]
[[Template:AlphaModSmall]]
[[Template:BetaMod]]
[[Template:BetaModSmall]]
[[Template:ReleasedMod]]
[[Template:ReleasedModSmall]]
These all exist in [[Category talk:Source mods]]. Check if they are obsolete and if so, flag for deletion.
You can find a list of SP mods to template with [[Template:ModStatus]] here: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/w/index.php?title=Special:Search&ns0=1&redirs=0&search=%22%5B%5BCategory%3ASingle+Player+Mods%5D%5D%22&limit=500&offset=0
After all the mods in this list has been templated, there are always the other mod categories.

- I've never seen GoldSrc written as "GoldSource". Even the Wikipedia article uses the spelling GoldSrc. It's probably better not to change it? Thelonesoldier 07:09, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
- Checking Wikipedia, I see that you're right. I'll change the ModStatus template and change GoldSource back to GoldSrc instead. --MossyBucket (formerly Andreasen) 12:29, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
Dear friend...
First of all, Russian language - not frigging. It is offence.
If you give to all my pages... hm... I just it call banohammer... Then you FIRST read and translate some remarks, because I see that You very clever, you can translate xD. Ok, I think, that you will use translators))))). I translate it for you (help to you):
Дак вот, что я вам скажу! ОТХЕРЛАНГОВ НЕ БУДЕТ! Здесь я буду писать то, что нужно на Русском языке, а вот если вы хотите, переводите. Мне надоело. Переводчики все левые, нормального результата, "Удовлетворительного", от них не добиться. Так что, пишу на Русском
otherlangs I didn't make. Here I will write stuff in Russian language, If You wont translate. Me pester. Translators bad, good results I don't get. I will write in Russian
Second: Stop editing my pages! It is My pages. It relating to discussion and my.
Trully yours. Without injury. Sorry for bad english.--]{o$Tya 16:13, 10 February 2011 (UTC)
- I didn't at all mean to offend you. The "friggin'" was there because it was a language that wasn't english. That the (non-localized) page that you're about to read is written in english, is the first assumption you make, so it's upsetting when the author didn't even try to make it readable outside Russia. The VDC is intended for the general public, to unless the article is localized to another language, or (maybe) if it's a personal User page, pages should be in english.
- I will not use translators to translate any wiki page, because online translators doesn't translate well at all. The result is typically english gibberish. I therefore personally think that translating a page into english is the authors own responsibility, but I'll leave the administrators a note asking what's allowed.
- Second of all, the edits I've done to your pages, are to make links lead directly to your page, instead of going through unnecessary redirects. This is done in order to later safely delete obsolete redirects without breaking all your links. It is done to fix your page.

Bullet!
I'm just being really nitpicky here, but when you say star the term you should be using is
- bullet .
:P Thelonesoldier 07:55, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
- Yeah, I know. Star just sounded nicer. (You should see all the things that I decide NOT to write in those titles - last time it was something about a poison headcrab jumping down from a roof, no foolies.) =) --MossyBucket (formerly Andreasen) 08:35, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
deletemod
Hi, I added a {{deletemod}} template which has a generic message which should be perfectly suitable for just about any crap mod article. It also adds them to a new category, Category:Mods for deletion which in an ideal world would make them more likely to get deleted. It's probably more work than it's worth but if you want you could replace the deletion tags you've already stuck on mod articles with this one. I'll try to replace some of mine.
