After playing the game through about 5 times and playing a large number of awesome custom maps, I decided I wanted to make my own. I quickly downloaded the level editor, opened hammer, then immediately closed it again. That was my first impression of the level editor. However, I still wanted to make maps, so I searched around for tutorials until I came here.

I'm not gonna do like a big ad or anything, but this site is the place to go if you need to know how to map/code/model, etc. I can be found around the mapping tutorials usually, but recently I've been experimenting in the XSI mod tool, therefore needing some modelling tuts also.
 
So far I haven't made any major contributions, e.g. new pages, but as my knowledge of the Hammer editor expands I may start working on something.
 
I have published only 1 map so far, and that one was rather incomplete and not of the best quality. I mostly map for portal, although in the past month or so I have gotten myself involved (okay, co-creating) the Portal: Access All Areas mod for portal, which is requiring me to research half life 2 mapping some in order to create outside scenes.
 
As for my life outside of portal, well, I'm 12 years old, living in the USA, of the male gender, commonly referred to as a genius, and that's all I can say without people stalking me. I have a wii, DSi, xbox 360, and of course a PC, and one of my other favorite games is Animal Crossing, an anime role playing game with no main goal. In it I am recording a video series called "Animal Crossing Enrichment Center," which is a little momento to my 2 favorite video games. School is really slowing it down, but as summer approaches I want to work on it more.
