:::::The reason why i removed that controversy section was because it would only result in more flaming of your mod, i don't get why you keep on doing things that cause others to flame you. Solokiller 09:02, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

::::::yet, it would help answer the questions people ask about the mod, from which the flaming stems from.
::::::the argument's been moved. sorry x.x Kizzycocoa 18:03, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
::::::furthermore, if this is anything like wikipedia, that sort of stuff is documented. I assumes this is like the wiki due to the layout. Kizzycocoa 09:15, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
:::::::There wouldn't be any flaming if you would just stop inviting it all the time. A controversy page would only make things worse, like i just said. Solokiller 09:56, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
::::::::I see you paid no regard to said questions that flamers have asked, nor the wiki format comment? Kizzycocoa 10:32, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
:::::::::What are you trying to say here? That any publicity is good, even bad publicity? And i follow the wiki format better than you do. Solokiller 11:33, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
::::::::::no. I am saying that it is a fact, and as such, I felt that a small mention was appropriate =/
::::::::::and FYI, I know the wiki format, and can follow it accordingly. I just don't speak the wiki format grammar. Kizzycocoa 11:58, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
:::::::::::The fact that your mod is being criticized for not actually being possible is due to Portal having a different, inaccessible version of the engine which holds code needed to properly simulate the portals. If your mod does have portals just like in Portal then that's a moot point, and doesn't deserves any mentioning. Either way, it doesn't matters: either you're lying when you say you have portals in your mod, and thus you're probably just trolling, or you're not lying, and you do have portals in your mod, in which case showing people just that would stop the criticism. Solokiller 12:26, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
::::::::::::the portals are incomplete. why show incomplete stuff?
::::::::::::also, I don't want the SPAM that comes with it. you create the portal source code, and that's when everything goes haywire. the spam, the "can I use them" questions, and all of that rubbish.
::::::::::::so, I naturally chose the midpoint of explaining how we came to get them working via the criticism part. it was meant to inform them of HOW I did it, so they could understand.
::::::::::::not to mention, all the people now working on portal are either bored, or uptight snobs who care nothing about new mappers, so we get flamed a lot.
::::::::::::need I give an example? I can name 3 users off the top of my head if you so wish. Kizzycocoa 12:51, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
:::::::::::::You don't explain the functionality of the portals through a criticism area, you do so in a separate one. And if the portals aren't even functioning correctly yet, how can you know for sure that they ever will? Short of VALVe releasing the source code i see no way you can recreate them. Solokiller 12:56, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
::::::::::::::the only problems with them are players entering through ground portals.
::::::::::::::and it's called "creating your own code".
::::::::::::::regardless, this is cluttering up this talk page. I'm going to move this part of the convo the next reply I have to make. Kizzycocoa 13:00, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

Removing comments

Not cool. Stop reverting people's comments on your page.--cheesemoo0 05:07, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

Actually, users are generally free to do as they wish with pages in their own user space, as long as it is not abusive and is remotely relevant to the VDC (this site is not a hosting service). That certainly allows them to remove comments if they feel the need. If the user has removed a comment, that will generally mean they have read it, and keep in mind it is kept in the revision history regardless. We will add a page describing this policy more specifically. --JeffLane 19:15, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
Ah, I thought it was frowned upon to remove any and all comments on the talk page. Thanks for the clear up.--cheesemoo0 03:18, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
I just don't want to keep spam on the page, it's that simple. Gear wasn't doing anything useful, and he consistently flames the talk page of the mod I'm working on just because he can. Speaking of which, can we get that looked at? Portal Access All Areas Talk Page --Lance
I did try to get a note on the mod over the controversy.
they said I would only stur things up =/
the thing is, they don't believe we can do it. and if we do, well, their stuff will seem tiny. therefore, attack the mod, try to stop it, and then, there is no huge change for portal.
