Hi, my name is Jurgen Knops. I live in The Netherlands and I'm 19 years old now. Currently I'm study Informatics in the ''"world largest port"''-city Rotterdam. Later I want to set my senses to the Microsoft software development technologies, like [http://www.microsoft.com/net/default.mspx .NET] and the [http://msdn.microsoft.com/vcsharp C#] coding language. For now I just want to have fun with Half-Life(2) and C++.

In 1998 i'd played my first (online) shooter. And sure! It was Half-Life. Since that date I always played that game (including several mods). When the release of Half-Life2 becomes a fact, I began to interest me in the multi-purpose Source Engine. I always loved to help people with their problems when they were modding for Half-Life. So after the release of Half-Life2 I began to write tutorials in Dutch. This espessially for Dutch modders that are bad in English. Begin 2005 (March) I had wrote/translate a [http://www.jurgenknops.nl/images/software/Half-Life2ModelViewer_versie09NL.png Dutch version] of the standard [[Model_Viewer|Model Viewer]]. This with great honor from the Dutch Half-Life2 [http://www.halflife-2.nl Community]. Hm, maybe I should write/translate tutorials in the Dutch language as a contribution here on the VDC... Contact me if people want that!

* Since a couple of months I try to create an own concept, which contains.... trains. Trains? Yes, trains. For an outsider it looks like an odd idea, I can guarantee; it is :). It must be a kind of [http://www.jurgenknops.nl/images/layout/jurgen.jpg obsession] I think... The purpose of this 'project' is (in my case for so far) -> "What should, and also could(!), I do with my ideas on the Source Engine".
 
* Keeping the Dutch Half-Life2 Community "[http://www.halflife-2.nl HalfLife-2.nl]" alive as administrator of it...
 
* Help people with their Source Engine related problems. (Almost Dutch)
 
* And last but not least.. I'm a betatester of the second Half-Life2 mappack of "Spy" (Leon Brinkmann, also Dutch) which contains a couple of very nice maps! His first mappack can be found [http://halflife2.filefront.com/file/HalfLife_2_Leons_SP_Map_Pack;39881 here]

Information

Hi, my name is Jurgen Knops. I live in The Netherlands and I'm 19 years old now. Currently I'm study Informatics in the "world largest port"-city Rotterdam. Later I want to set my senses to the Microsoft software development technologies, like .NET and the C# coding language. For now I just want to have fun with Half-Life(2) and C++.


Things I've done...

In 1998 i'd played my first (online) shooter. And sure! It was Half-Life. Since that date I always played that game (including several mods). When the release of Half-Life2 becomes a fact, I began to interest me in the multi-purpose Source Engine. I always loved to help people with their problems when they were modding for Half-Life.
