You start out as a the manager of the Technology Development Team for a division of the combine enforcement. You are working at your office at the citadel when you receive a notice that Aperture Science Laboratories, one of your partners, has cut off communication. You are assigned to command a team to investigate the matter. You discover there has been an explosion at the facility very recently. The power to the facility has been shut off and the emergency backup systems have not yet been cleared for activation. You call in to the base and they instruct you to navigate the facility, if deemed safe, turn on the emergency power and activate the backup systems. After you turn the power on and activate the backup system, on your way out of the facility, you and your team are ambushed and captured. Like in the original Portal you wake up in a stasis chamber but you must escape the cell since the emergency protocol of the backup system is in effect and the facility is in lock-down. As you roam the facility you come across a new technology and acquire the ability to switch between this reality and an alternate one to aid you in finding all of your teammates and getting back to the base, ALIVE!

I was working on the game solo but as I began to expand upon it, it got to be too much work for just myself. I have a couple of people who just recently joined my team but so far there is very little done on it. I hope to get some done on it soon. My current goal is to have chapter one done by the end of the year.
Concept for game mechanics is in beta.

My team hasn't been able to stay together due to other obligations for each of us, but I still may be able to finish the first chapter. I have no idea when anything else is going to happen though. I've also decided to include mini-games for both practice on my part and enjoyment on the player's part.

I'm glad to welcome Matt Willis to my development team. It looks like I will not finish chapter one on time but no worries, I will continue to work on it.

Great News! Since Portal 2 has officially been announced, I'm putting the project on hold in anticipation for the EP3 Engine. Keep your fingers crossed. If the Engine is all that it's rumored to be, then expect to have another step up in the experience.

Valvesoftware has officially announced that they have pushed back the release date. This now puts us in a position where we will continue to work on the game and then port it to the new engine when it's released.

Greater News! The release date for Portal 2 and the new engine has been moved back up to February 9th, 2011. Hopefully we'll have all of the design and documentation complete for when it comes out so there will be an easy switch and not put us far off course.

So since there's a little while before the new engine is realeased, I've decided to replan out the game and possibly make a few tweaks. Some progress has been lost in a computer failure but it wasn't devastating to the project as they were just some map resources and can be rebuilt. I'd like to personally welcome Nathan Parker and George Gough to my development team and hope that with these new additions, more progress will be made. Also I may start releasing some of the game's artwork soon as a sneak peak to what's coming.

I'd like to welcome Phil Kneupfer to my development team. After we finish designing the game, we now have enough people to build the game quickly. Hopefully the new engine will provide a few new tools for us to work with.

Description

This is a very large mod that I started a while ago after playing through the Half-Life Series and Portal. It takes place parallel to and after the original story of Portal. It extends a different perspective and shows a whole lot more about Aperture Science Laboratories.
