So, where is the how-to?  Sure, the sketchup plugin exports an SMD file, but what about the textures?  How do I set up the qc file?  Is there a cookie cutter 3d warehouse to l4d path?  Please describe.  Thank you. [[User:Zettix|Zettix]] 02:08, 15 November 2009 (UTC)

Isn't there any way to "unwrap" the model, so I could create a proper texture? I'm a total noob in this modeling business, so I thought I'd start with SketchUp.

An end-to-end how to is needed. I have sketchup, l4d, and verve. But my efforts to move 3d warehouse media into l4d has been utter frustration. The only thing I have not done is the 3ds max route. I have tried the blender route. My dream:

  • Hammer -> import -> sketchup
    • brushes / static model / physics model

Texturing?
