I question the point of this template. Is it that hard to find the "|" character for anyone? You can always cut and paste it from somewhere else. For me, using two characters in different places, will just confuse me. I vote we edit every article that this template is linked to properly, and then flag this template for deletion. --[[User:MossyBucket|MossyBucket (formerly Andreasen)]] 00:20, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

:This template is so you can have the | character appear in other templates. Normally the | is used as a seperator for perameters, so if you want the symbol to appear within the template you use this one. For exmaple, <nowiki>{{key|Ctrl||}}</nowiki> displays {{key|Ctrl||}} so you'd have to do <nowiki>{{key|Ctrl|{{!}}}}</nowiki> to render {{key|Ctrl|{{!}}}} correctly. I question the point of this template. Is it that hard to find the "|" character for anyone? You can always cut and paste it from somewhere else. For me, using two characters in different places, will just confuse me. I vote we edit every article that this template is linked to properly, and then flag this template for deletion. --MossyBucket (formerly Andreasen) 00:20, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

This template is so you can have the | character appear in other templates. Normally the | is used as a seperator for perameters, so if you want the symbol to appear within the template you use this one. For exmaple, {{key|Ctrl||}} displays Ctrl so you'd have to do {{key|Ctrl|{{!}}}} to render Ctrl+| correctly. Thelonesoldier 00:35, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

This isn't "my" template. Also, it is used in other templates besides the key template, that was just an example. Thelonesoldier 01:41, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
