Hi, I'm Welsh Mullet, 17 year old student from South Wales - UK.
22 year old Computer Science graduate living in South Wales, near Swansea.
Hoping to do a course in Computer Science and AI in university next year, so I thought I'd try making a mod, to get a head start on learning C++. I already know VB.net, but really need to learn C++ for proper programming.
I've done some basic work with source mods, made some tutorials for interlopers, and had many a bright idea that has never seen the light of day. I'm looking to get back into modding, with my game Second Chance. The story is in the preliminary stages, and has been for a while, but now I'm out of university and looking for work, I'm hoping to use it as a tool to develop my time management and programming skills, as well as dabble in story writing, modelling and art.

So, I'm currently throwing ideas around for my mod, Half Life 2: Destructive Interference.
Also available for free voice acting, if you need a Welsh / British extra, or just random noises. I'll need to pick up a mic first though, so probably only good for stand-in work or stuff.
It doesn't have a page yet, because no work beside a few ideas has been done.

I'll post some ideas up here from time to time, maybe even create a page for it.
Hit me up at the address below if you want anything from me!
Oh, and it's set in the UK, as there doesn't seem to be any set here already.

Half Life 2: Episode 2 based
Orange box 2007 engine (for now)

Things to add to the source code and models:
# Attachment points on weapon and character models for large amount of customisation. Scopes, hats etc.
# Model for player (anyone know of a tutorial for this?)
# Improve reflective code, for mirrors and water (so it doesn't **** up when 2 can see each other)
# Improve AI?
# Physics water
# Survival mode, similar to Firefight in Halo ODST
# Improved realism.

Based around a team of ex-SAS and SBS members in London around the time of the Half Life 2 Series.
4 man squad is the most likely at the moment.

Additional weapons:
# Turrets that can be remove, and carried around, giving 3rd person camera and reduced movement speed.
# Sniper rifle based on the same bolts as the crossbow, but using some form of gauss propulsion?
# More realism in existing guns.

Also, has anyone done jiggleboned trees for realistic movement from wind and explosions?
