I downloaded the Hammer editor and when I click file new, it asks me for textures. Do I need to download Source SDK in order to get textures and to get Hammer to work? (I'm new to this!)

If you want to make Source maps, yes. The version of Hammer you downloaded is for Half-Life 1. --TomEdwards 14:04, 16 Sep 2005 (PDT)
