usefullness of this page

Kizzycocoa, this is neither a blog nor website for you to post updates on, the only thing that belongs here is a single page that describes the mod, not a list of maps that you're planning to make. I won't add a delete tag yet so this can be discussed, but i doubt it'll get very far. Solokiller 13:21, 11 December 2009 (UTC)

Actually, you shouldn't even be advertising mods here in the first place. This has been mentioned time and time again by Valve staff. I agree to the deletion of this page.--1/4 Life 14:15, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
I personally felt, as long as it doesn't get in the way, this page isn't really a problem. I just thought it would be good to make a list.
but, if a mod want to delete it, fine. I just thought that-for convinience's sake-, a list here would be nice. Kizzycocoa 16:04, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
but, I would like to see this "against the rules for mods" things before I mark it for deletion.Kizzycocoa 16:12, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
also, while I'm at it, I do want to point out the nature of the mod.
all chambers are the same.
based on remaking chambers with different puzzles.
hence why I assumed a page like this would be nice. so to navigate and understand what is what. I even made sure it wasn't in the main site, and it was under C1's directory. I don't really see the problem.
and I haven't linked to them either. it's a guide, not an advert. if it were an advert, I would have followed in the footsteps of how nyko set up his user page. the only advert really is the link at the bottom.
bloody unlikely I am following those footprints, now I know practically all "pros" have WAY too much ego.
god, I hope I won't go that way once P:AAA's finished >.> Kizzycocoa 22:14, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
You have a moddb page and your own website, put it on there. It does not belong here. Solokiller 23:31, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
but, how exactly will it effect anyone? anyone that comes across it would have already heard of C1, and hence, I need not advertise it.
it is linked only to the C1 page, and can only be accessed via recent changed (which hardly anyone checks), random page (HIGHLY improbably to come across via there), or the VDC page for the mod, from which, they already know the mod, as they saw that page.
also, waiting on "against the rules" thing. in case my previous ask for it gets buried. Kizzycocoa 23:50, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
This wiki is not here to advertise mods, it's here to provide documentation for Source engine modding. It doesn't matters where it's linked, it's useless. Again, you have plenty of other places to put this, where you're allowed to put this. And nobody here has any obligation to tell you what the rules are, if you bothered to read the main page, you'd know what can go on this wiki, and what can't. And i just know you'll make some stupid argument like you've been doing for the past few weeks, so please, cut the crap already. Solokiller 00:35, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
I took the liberty to go to the main page before submitting. I read through the Terms Of Use. nothing here is against the terms.
I don't just do things for the hell of it. I research. and considering the unique nature of the mod, I believe an allowance at the non-existant cost of one page is more than reasonable, and makes the mod more informative.
I know for a fact that all maps listed is stupid normally, but this mod has all maps the same. faurly unique situation if you ask me. Kizzycocoa 00:47, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
Are you dumb, or are you just trolling? I said read the main page, not the terms of use, if you did read the main page, you'd know what this place is for. Seriously, if don't stop this, i will consider you a troll. Solokiller 12:48, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
for trying to help people who want to know more about my mod, and having a page that no-one will see unless intentionally looking for my mod? =/ Kizzycocoa 12:50, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
You can put a list of maps on your own website or on moddb, BUT NOT HERE. Get that into your thick skull already. This is a mod development wiki, not a mod showcase wiki. Solokiller 13:24, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
yet, what trolly features have I had? have I vandalised? wrecked pages? had malicious intent to make the wiki worse? have I even insulted anyone here?
no. I haven't.
yet, you seem to find it fitting to insult me.
and as user pages are just that, surely, this convo should be concluded with the deletion of this page, and creation of another?
Yes, you have vandalized by revert warring, clogging up the recent changes page, and continuing to do such things after being told to stop. You consistently fail to realize the purpose of this wiki, even when told what that purpose is. And no, i'm not insulting you, i'm just sick and tired of you messing up the wiki. And yes, this page will be removed, but it will not be replaced, like i've told you several times already, there are far better places to put this kind of bullshit, which is really what it is. Solokiller 13:55, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
yet, after that, the page is now being improved.
this shows people do think it needs to be improved. so surely, doesn't that mean the real trolls are the ones that were the other half of the revert war?
technically, as people do see it needs improving, that means sure, I was wrong in how I did that, however, surely, due to the fact it genuinly needs improving, that figures out as you are the trolls. =/
and by what admins say, I can make this under my user page with no need for all this, as it is under my user page.
a moderator said that. I can give you the link if you so wish.
and swearing is a bad habit. Kizzycocoa 14:27, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
So we're trolls for reverting your shitty edits? How does this make any sense? And you started the revert war, so don't act like we're the bad guys here. And while the admins did say you could put a page under your own username, they did not say you could do this with any amount of pages, if you start treating it like your own little wiki they will take action. And yet again, i am not insulting you, you simply fail to realize what's going on here, instead you continue to discuss a matter that's already settled. Solokiller 15:28, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
it works both ways. it could be the person who makes the first move, or the person who decides to revert it.
the first revert was not mine, yet, I made the latest change. either person could be blamed for it to erupt into a war.
and also, I did start to wonder, was I being a troll for trying to improve the page? I got my answer through asking a friendly non-troll community I run, as they'd know me more than, well, I do.
if you wish to, search through my posts. I guarantee, none on there are trolly, flamey etc.
well, aside from religion, but that's been dying for the past 90 years.
I now have confirmation I can add it to my user page. I shall make the necessary changes ASAP. I can do so in my user page, as long as I don't abuse it. exactly as they meant.
so, now I shall leave this alone, unless someone else wishes to add to it.
though, I still suggest you try to improve your swearing habit Kizzycocoa 15:44, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
I already checked that forum, it only proves how stupid you acted, asking things both there and here, you do know the Steam User Forums have a special set of subforums just for those types of questions, right? And you "pointing out" my swearing only points in the direction of you being a troll, because i'm not swearing. And if you start clogging up the recent changes page again because you didn't use show preview, i won't be the only one who will be pissed off at you. Solokiller 15:54, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
"So we're trolls for reverting your shitty edits?" "there are far better places to put this kind of bullshit"
see? blatant swearing.
and ask a forum that knows NOTHING about how I post, how I act, what I'm like etc.? that's like a random stranger asking if he's right about something when you know nothing about him.
and who replied? me? or you? if you stop replying, I too will follow in turn.

regardless, the issue is resolved. if you have personal quarrels, my user talk page please. Kizzycocoa 16:06, 12 December 2009 (UTC)

Deletion

We don't use the wiki for anything mod special, only to benefactor the SDK, and it's associating steamworks mods, and/or level sdk's for said mods. You should never use the wiki for anything other. You are not a special case, this is not a unique situation.--Gear 03:33, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
Quick reminder for Kizzy here: "If this page obviously does not meet the criteria for speedy deletion, or you intend to fix it, please remove this notice, but do not remove this notice from articles that you have created yourself." Don't start another revert war, and let others decide if this page should stay.--1/4 Life 03:38, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
ok, I can play this little game of yours.
under lancelot's talk page, jefflane said:
"Actually, users are generally free to do as they wish with pages in their own user space, as long as it is not abusive and is remotely relevant to the VDC (this site is not a hosting service)."
as I plan not to host files, I can simply move it to my page and add it in there. there we go. I think it's a fair compromise. Kizzycocoa 11:06, 12 December 2009 (UTC)
