Overview
eXitium is a single-player Half-Life 2 modification created with the Valve Software's Source Engine. Born in 2006, this project takes place in one of the biggest universities of Latin America: the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). The eXitium development team is a group of enthusiastic students working together to bring this ambitious project to life, getting trained in all the aspects needed to develop a mod.
The name of the project, eXitium, comes from the Latin word that means "ruins" or "destruction".

History
Something happened in the Biotechnology Institute of the UNAM University. Some kind of incident. The Mexican government started a quarantine operative all around the campus, keeping inside all the students, teachers, and other related people.
Now, four weeks after that, we are sending Dr. Chavez, an amateur researcher and scientist, to enter the place and find his way to the epicenter of the incident and inform the government about all the details of the infection.
