Across Valve & Community Mann Vs Machine missions are variants of robots that deviate from normal stats of the humanoid mercenaries, they behave differently and usually provide an extra layer of challenge for the players to face.

Verity is the spice of life, but it is highly recommended to maintain a fair and fun experience, overwhelming players with many powerful variants of robots at once could lead to fatigue for most, and some eventually rage quit if failing over and over again.
