Categories on redirect pages

I just noticed that the software upgrade has led to redirect pages appearing in categories. This is "correct" behaviour insofar as they do have [[Category:X]] in them, but bad because it's spamming up the list with unimportant entries. I'd like to see them hidden again...what do you think? --TomEdwards 19:23, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Interesting, I had not noticed this, but it makes sense. This is more of a new feature than a bug since the redirects actually have category tags in them. The category index is similar to the index of a book, so in this particular case, I think it is appropriate that the redirect titles that are unique parameters (such as $basetexturenoenvmap) are in the category index. The redirects that are duplicates of other entries clearly added only for search purposes ($detail alpha mask base texture) should definitely not have category tags. And the remaining ones in the $ section could get category tags parameters added so they are correctly alphabetized. --JeffLane 01:05, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Bugged pages when past a certain length

On the List of L4D Models page, it goes into blank space past "props_rooftop\acvent03.mdl" (ctrl+f and paste to hop to it) for some reason - but when you edit the page you can see the content past that still exists, just for some reason the wiki isn't showing it

Left 4 Dead: Survival

Hi Jeff, it's me again. If you don't mind me asking, what makes the game think that a certain map is survival map? I've been inspecting the Last Stand map for the last 3 hours and couldn't find anything that would indicate this. --Baliame (talk) 20:28, 26 April 2009 (UTC)

I assume it's set with the mp_gamemode now. Before loading the map, it is set to survival. For the current maps that have survial modes on them, they have some hand-written lump which adds any Survival unique entities. --Remmiz 21:51, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, that would explain it all, however, if gamemode is only settable prior to map start, it would be impossible, or rather dodgy to set it up in the map file only :( --Baliame (talk) 14:29, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
