So... how do you spawn a particle into the game from the particle editor? --Mflux 02:33, 7 Jul 2008 (PDT)

You need to place it in Hammer first, compile then run the Particle editor in the map.--Gear 12:04, 7 Jul 2008 (PDT)
In hammer, place a info_particle_system then in its properties, type the particle name you chose and put in the manifest, then have a trigger with inputs to activate the particle. --Dan.S 23:32 7 Jul 2008 (GMT)
Thanks, any way to not do this via hammer, and just generate it through the console? I know I've asked this on the forum and was laughed at :) I can generate it through code, too, but it's a hassle to do that just for testing. --Mflux 03:57, 9 Jul 2008 (PDT)

Could someone help ?. I am trying to open tf2 particles in tools mode. The problem is i cant open any .pcf file if its larger than a few kilobytes. I mostly tried editing mvm.pcf. Only small particle effects open. Any idea what I am doing wrong ?. ---ChAoS- 03:53, 26 December 2013 (PST)
