I'm looking for a list of available banner templates on this wiki

I've found an entity description which is completly broken, false with a lot of keyvalues and flags missing, I need to add a banner to it. Is there a list of banners available somewhere?--Hurricaaane (Talk) 08:53, 24 Feb 2008 (PST)

When you say banner, do you mean template (such as: {{kv_targetname}} ?) If so then I believe that, at the moment, the only list with keyvalues/inputs/outputs templates is the one on the Help:Editing page. I think there is no comprehensive list of template messages currently available on the wiki. --Etset 14:15, 24 Feb 2008 (PST)

Syntax Highlighting

Hello. Why don't you use some syntax highlighting MW extension? It's better than still using <span style="color: blue;">#include</span> &lt;iostream&gt;. The best is SyntaxHighlight GeSHi.

Download the whole wiki!?!

Is There needs to be a way to download the whole wiki in a pdf format so that we can view it offline. Is there something like this and I am missing it?

It actually is possible, one of the guys over on the Blender Wiki did something like this several months ago, turned the whole English section of the wiki manual into one large PDF. I've run across a few methods myself, the problem is there's certain drawbacks to the different approaches. You would either end up placing a very high load on VALVe's servers (not sure they'd be happy with that) or would require direct access to the WiKi's server files themselves, something currently limited to VALVe personnel, IIRC. --brandished 04:28, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

This isn't a wiki on how to model. If you need to learn basic modelling for XSI then search somewhere else. Once you are able to model you'll be able to use the information here to help you take your model and use it in the Source engine. Creating a working elevator in a payload map?

Hi, I've been struggling with creating a working elevator in a payload map I'm trying to make. What I would like to happen is have a "func_tracktrain" wheel out of a tunnel, follow down a ramp (which passes underneath Blue spawn), then stop and elevate to the front of the spawn waiting to be pushed to the next point, all during the setup of Red Team. The problem I'm encountering though is the entire payload ("func_tracktrain" and all it's entities) not elevating correctly and causing the pitch of the cart to go haywire. I've considered disabling pitch but that removes the whole purpose of the cart going down the ramp normally even though it elevates correctly. I've also tried making multiple "func_tracktrains" that are switched between parenting the cart's entities. Finally, I tried to make a normal elevator with the "func_tracktrain" with all entities but on a clean new map, even interchanging between "prop_dynamic" and "prop_physics_override", in vain. I've even tried to replicate the process of the cart descending in pl_goldrush in reverse but that doesn't work either. I'm completely out of ideas of how to fix this issue and would really appreciate any help! --Provolone 07:01, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Launching games at Steam?

I'm trying to launch a game at Steam. After couple of talks, official biz contacts told me to send them a game. 3 weeks have gone, and no news from them, no replies to my emails.. The server log showed me they didn't even download the game.. I'm in a trouble... as I and my colleagues have been fully concentrating on this and it's like the whole cost is about to be like all wasted.. What can I do...

I'm trying to get thourgh to Steam with a game which I and my colleagues have developed. Our game being serviced at Steam! (Our dream~) My question is how to start a business with Steam.. And the trouble is the official contacts at Steam are not really open to discussions with small and medium sized developers.Soointimes

Thanks for the help~ But the thing is their follow-up attitude. I did actions according to the all guideline provided at the site and documents including the one you gave. And I managed to start discussing beginning part of the project with the official biz contacts there. We even sent them the final version of the game as they'd asked. And after then, we're now stuck. We need their yes or no and specific terms suggestions, etc. But they never answer to my emails and questions.. They're just ignoring people in need. I can't help but think about Steam's business morality as fake or so clumsy that they're not really ready to name themselves as an open platform.Soointimes

Speedy Deletion - 'Idea Mods'

What is the general consensus on 'idea mods'? For example when people post a long list of staff requests with absolutely nothing to show for the project, sometimes even requesting prior work from these people who are wanted to build the mod for the creator. I'm talking about things like this:

I Agree, if there was some show of progress or commitment on their own then i think it would be fine to let it stay there, however, having an idea and then saying to the world "come join me i have an awesome idea" is just lame. I have been workong on mods for about 2 years now, trying to find a good idea that works. Until a mod gets to that stage, it shouldn't b eposted on here. MLSTRM 10:10, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
