Talk:Left 4 Dead 2

Why were the sections I added earlier removed? The discussion page is (was) empty, and it's rather poor practice to immediately remove content without leaving at least a note.

The brief description by user:TomEdwards says: "stick it on Wikipedia, or maybe Wikimoans if it exists" Shouldn't VDC contain all Valve/Steam/Source related information useful in modding and game researching? I'd say the most noticeable thing about L4D2 uptil now has been the controversy of the players, and leaving out information about the demo when it is such a unique case seems narrow-minded as well. Is there actually any reason not to have the information there? Feel free to correct me if I wasn't subjective enough (although I was careful while writing), but simply removing everything seems irrational.

This site is about developing games using Source. Historic information about release dates belongs on Wikipedia, where people will see it. --TomEdwards 23:16, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
I really want to say that I understand and thanks for the info, but that's just not true. Have a look at Valve, for example. That whole article is pretty much historic information. I don't want to be subjective, but I really don't think there's any reason to cut out what I wrote, and it annoys me to see information go to waste.--OVRKLL 23:38, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
I'm going to have to agree with Overkll here. It belongs on Valve time and Wikipedia.--cheesemoo0 00:51, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
I'll make a compromise... Page will be updated.--OVRKLL 01:01, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
The page has now been updated. This version should be further objective and does not contain the list of delays which has instead been updated and referred to in Valve Time. Everybody happy?--OVRKLL 01:20, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

Skyboxes

If you've had a poke through the vpk's you may have noticed that the skybox files are now a maximum of 128x64. this may be related to the contents of hl2\shaders\fxc\, specifically:

sky_hdr_compressed_ps20
sky_hdr_compressed_ps20b
sky_hdr_compressed_rgbs_ps20
sky_hdr_compressed_rgbs_ps20b

Has anybody had any success yet at accessing the higher resolution versions of the already viewable versions?

*Suggestion* Common Infected control.

I think it should be a cool thing to be able to control the common infected, but not by individual, you would die so instantly. Control a whole mob (Like a human director), a group of zombies that you must move to the survivors, and the mob loses zombies until there are no zombies left. I don't know if you know what I mean :/ Unsigned comment added by Alexandrovich (talkcontribs). Please use four tildes (~~~~) or {{Message}} template to sign your username.

Latest L4D2 update did more harm than good.

When they updated l4d2 with The Last Stand, It screwed up the sound so that locating SI is much more difficult and sound is practically useless, sometimes spawns don't even make sounds. The new map they gave us is practically worthless for competitive play and they tradeoff between a new map and broken sound is not worth it. Please just undo the update. There are plenty of great custom campaigns that are at least 4 maps so each player can get a tank control. Unsigned comment added by Lovebone (talkcontribs). Did you get lost ? This isn’t steam forum to complain about nonsense. Unsigned comment added by Nescius (talkcontribs). Please use four tildes (~~~~) or {{Message}} template to sign your username.
