On 07 August 2006 the author of the mod suddenly suffered a mechanical harddrive failure that destroyed the mod and thoroughly stopped all development of it. - For the love of *beep*, always remember to MAKE BACKUPS! Seriously. This convenient hard-disk-failure excuse seems to affect a vast selection of people working on mods, and if it's true, then modders must work with some ridiculously unreliable hardware.

The data on my laptop is copied on to two external hard disks (currently in two different countries); important stuff is saved on to CD, uploaded somewhere safe or copied to my desktop computer or home 'server'. Then with MINERVA, the source files for the first two maps are currently residing on perhaps hundreds of thousands of computers worldwide. Now you understand why I included the VMFs. ;-) —Cargo Cult (info, talk) 02:47, 15 Sep 2006 (PDT)

I'm a coder so the code is currently making himself cozy on a Subversion-server. No excuse here --dutchmega 02:58, 15 Sep 2006 (PDT)

I made sure I had backups of my harddrive on a second harddrive. Then the cops came and took 'em both. Lost all my early HL maps. That kinda sucked. --Andreasen 03:35, 15 Sep 2006 (PDT)

I backed up the wrong folder when doing spring cleaning and lost all my early work. Filled with rage ever since. --Angry Beaver 15:22, 15 Sep 2006 (PDT)

I once checked my most important floppy disks (you know, back in the day when hard disks weren't wide spread) for bad sectors. Turned out, this error checking process involved overwriting the disks with patterns, without restoring the original data. --Pizzahut 08:20, 31 Jan 2007 (PST)

KZ Is back!

I wonder if my contacting the author had anything to do with it ... was not even like, a month ago ... --Daedalus 02:00, 31 Jan 2007 (PST)
