Working on this page to update it with new information. Has no references to $SteamUserDir and does not account for EP1\OB Bin Split. I need this page usable and make sense to link to from another page I'm working on. --Grash 02:51, 6 November 2009 (UTC)

Talk Text from Manual configuration of Hammer Editor Page

What's up all? I was wondering if someone could explain to me how to do the 3D skybox. What they have as an explanation right now doesn't really make sense. I understand how the 3D skybox is supposed to work, I just need an explanation as to how I go about creating one. If you can help me, thanks.

lil' pup (P.S.-I don't know why it says "How do I manually configure the Hammer Editor?" on the top)

The article is Making_3D_Skyboxes_-_How_to_create_a_3D_geometry_skybox.

Ok, I've seen that, but it doesn't really make sense to me...so I make a 1/16 scale of the map and place it somewhere else with the skycamera still in it...where does the whole sky part come in?

When the map runs. :-) --Tom Edwards 08:53, 28 Jun 2005 (PDT)

Kill this page (Manual configuration of Hammer Editor‎) and all like it.

This page exmplifies everything that is wrong with this wiki, and wiki's in general. Not that there is much wrong with it mind you.

Why the heck does this page exist? I type in "manually configuring hammer" into the search and get a search result for "manual configuration of Hammer editor" that is nothing more than "you shouldn't need to do this but if you do, refer to "hammer manual configuration."

Of course, wiki's dont have intelligent search capability like a search engine, so it's excusable that searching for "entity list" doesn't bring you right to "list of entities" and such, but really, this page should be nothing more than a redirect to "hammer manual configuration", or should not exist at all.

But alas, I have no idea how to do such advanced things to wiki's. I wonder, what do YOU think about the bloat and nonsensicum that permeates every page of the wiki? Maybe I'm just silly... --Mrhappy 14:14, 29 Jan 2008 (PST)

I have read the contents of both pages (Manual configuration of Hammer Editor and Hammer_Manual_Configuration), and I agree with you. It seems that the latter has all the information this one has, anyway. This page could simply be a redirect to the other one (Hammer_Manual_Configuration), for "legacy" purposes (for example, there is another page that redirects here too: How do I manually configure the Hammer Editor?). And we should make sure the contents of this page are integrated (not forcibly word by word) in the "target page". Any diverging opinions? --Etset 15:09, 29 Jan 2008 (PST)
I'm fine with ti too, we dont really need extra pages saying go to this page to find the info, thats what the Person was already looking for, so its just stupid. It's like having a Sign that says: "Don't touch the Sign, it has sharp edges!" Completely pointless, so we should instead, delete the extra pages, or just redirect them all to the same page.--Gear 00:40, 30 Jan 2008 (PST)
Done, I've redirected it to Hammer Manual Configuration. --brandished 00:20, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
