My game (Hl1 , V1.111, approx.) crashes whenever I try to "give" a medkit, something about the model only being spawned on levelstart or something. which sucks, but, this is to avoid a crash on your HL. --JeffMOD 15:46, 16 May 2008 (PDT)

Why specifically mention buildcubemaps?

It seems incredibly unusually specific to specify using point_template to give the player items when starting a new game being less reliable than using a point_servercommand along with the give command while using buildcubemaps as an example. In what case would this have any effect? Any entities that would be spawned on a new game would have to be dynamic by definition and thus wouldn't show in generated cubemaps. Sure, using give instead of templates can be more reliable in certain situations, like for example where there are more than one spawn point for a player to spawn at, but as far as I'm aware it has literally no relevance to cubemaps. --Tiny Desk Engineer (Talk Page) 13:38, 14 February 2023 (PST)
