: You can nest soundscapes inside other ones with the [[Soundscapes#playsoundscape|playsoundscape]] rule when making your own soundscapes. The util soundscapes are used as building blocks so you don't have to make multiple copies of all the individual settings. Combining soundscapes?

Soundscape list articles such as List of HL2 Soundscapes states that "Soundscapes with 'util' in the name are intended for inclusion in other, full soundscapes. While they should work without problems in-game, they generally aren't nearly as varied or deep as the resulting composites."

However, this article states that "The entity's soundscape will then play until another one takes over. If more than one soundscape entity is fighting for control, the nearest wins."

You can nest soundscapes inside other ones with the playsoundscape rule when making your own soundscapes. The util soundscapes are used as building blocks so you don't have to make multiple copies of all the individual settings. Rectus (talk) 06:48, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
